Dr Eric Dinglasan
Post-doctoral Researcher, Queensland Alliance for Agriculture & Food Innovation (QAAFI), The University of Queensland
Eric Dinglasan is an early career crop geneticist at the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Innovation at The University of Queensland, working on Australia’s most important cereal crop, wheat. For the past 3-4 years, Eric has applied ‘speed breeding’ technology that uses extended photoperiods and controlled temperatures to achieve up to 6 generations of wheat per year. He has developed novel methodologies for rapid phenotyping disease resistance traits, and applied speed breeding to achieve rapid introgression of genetic resistance from old landraces into modern elite cultivars.
